This month's Indiana Filmmakers Network meeting will focus on Cameras (pun intended... sorry)
We invite everyone who owns an HD camera to bring it and we'll do a show & tell session. There are many choices out there and this will be a great opportunity to see the physical and technical differences. We also invite anyone who has a good working or technical knowledge of these cameras to join the conversation. We're working on getting a local supplier to join us... I'll post an update if and/or when that is confirmed. Bring your equipment, bring your knowledge... bring a friend!

These meetings are open to anyone with an interest in filmmaking. They are held the second Tuesday of each month at the Hamilton 16 IMAX off I-69 @ Exit 10 in the Hamilton Town Center. The meeting starts at 7pm. There Camera Show & Tell will last about an hour, then we will break into our regular networking session.

Date:
Tuesday, March 9, 2010
Time:
7:00pm - 10:00pm
Location:
Hamilton 16 IMAX Hamilton Town Center, exit 10 I69 13825 Norell Road Nobelsville IN

This month we invite all our local filmmakers to reveal their plans for the new year! First we will go around the room and give everyone a chance to speak about their upcoming projects. Please tell us what the film is about, why you want to make it, the scale of the project, your expected schedule, and what the Indiana film community can do to help you. Then we'll open it up for questions. This will be a great chance to learn who's doing what and how to get involved in these great projects. These guys are going to be looking for crew and talent... we're big on both fronts!

After the Q & A with our filmmakers we will have our usual casual networking session.

Film Incentives Survive Budget Cuts!

The Indiana General Assembly passed a 2 year budget that maintains the 15% Tax Credit for film productions. The original House version of the bill included the incentives, but the Senate version did not. There was great concern that the incentives that had gone in effect in July of 2008 were going to be dropped as part of the budget cuts during the special session last week. On Saturday July 4th Governor Daniels signed the compromise budget, that still includes the tax incentives. There was a move in the House to increase the cap from $2.5 Million to $5 Million. The final bill maintained the $2.5 Million cap on the tax credit. The complete tax incentive package details can be found on the Film Indiana website. http://www.in.gov/film/26.htm
