On Ramp

The Indiana Arts Commission is offering a three-day intensive business skills and entrepreneurship training course.

The Course is built for creatives who are looking to rev up their business thinking, whether they are starting something new, looking to deepen their business understanding, or are at a professional crossroads

On-Ramp will give you new connections, a plan, coaching, and access to special funds to make it happen.

The course also provides certification that may serve as proof to investors that you’re ready to make things happen.

Filmmaker Opportunities!

A few opportunities for filmmakers have passed by our desk, so we thought we’d share them with you. Let us know if you take part in any of these.

The Ocean Film Challenge asks filmmakers to submit a short documentary, 7 minutes or less, about on the impact humans have on the ocean and the actions individuals can take to save the human race from extinction. THE OCEANS FILM CHALLENGE WILL BE AWARDING a share of $1,500 in cash prizes + 2 airline tickets from SFO to Bali along with screenings at Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, AudFest and at the International Wildlife Film Festival. Southwest Airlines is looking for stories with heart. In a video 3 minutes or less, they want to hear a traveler’s story. From reuniting with a loved one, to chasing a dream, to seeing the world from a new perspective. Southwest is giving away $9,400 worth of free flights! DELL is sponsoring another 8K film challenge! In 1 minute or less DELL wants to see outdoor adventures shot in stunning 8K. Lafayette IFN – Kick Start The New Year!

Our first IFN Lafayette Hub meeting of 2018 will be held Thursday, January 18th, 7-9pm at the GQT Eastside 9 Theater. Help us celebrate the start of year NINE in Lafayette & year EIGHT at the theater, of the IFN Lafayette Hub – Indiana Filmmakers Network.

Want to help get more involved with IFN statewide or in your community? Now’s your chance! The night will kick off with elections for the Terre Haute IFN Hub for 2018, selecting new leaders, volunteers, board members, etc… then we will transition into a meet & greet, networking night to ease into the new year. We invite everyone to share all their creative plans for the new year and to discuss what they’d like to see at future IFN meetings for 2018. Are you looking for projects? Planning projects? Just curious about what the IFN is all about? We will devote this meeting to Kick-Starting 2018 in a positive direction. Please share this event and come join us!

IFN Evansville Meeting #66: Comedy Tonight and Elections!

Join us for IFN Evansville Hub – Indiana Filmmakers Network‘s first fabulous meeting of 2018, January 16th, 7-9pm at Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library – Central Library in downtown Evansville. As always, IFN meetings are free and open to the public.

Then please help us welcome Mark Dessauer, as he presents “Comedy Tonight”, a detailed look at the structure, elements, and techniques for writing comedy for film and stage.

Mark Dessauer is an actor, writer, teacher, director, and producer. He has written two award-winning comedy shorts and has written two other as of yet produced comedy shorts.
